Tall Girl (2019)

We can lay low or we can stand tall
~ Jody Kreyman ~ Tall Girl (2019)

Let's have a movie review again, shall we?
Picture from google searching

Well, I watch this movie on Netflix. I know about this movie when I was searching what the best movie to watch to celebrate International Women's Day for my office event.

(Yep, let's talk about that later on okay? I really could not stand people who couldn't do the job rights. Everyone is busy doing their own task. Yayayayya skip that)

So, when I was searching, I found some of the titles. One of them was Tall Girl. I was really curious about this movie. But, unfortunately, no one wanted to watch this at that time. Therefore, I watch this movie last Saturday...

Yep, my whole weekend was filled with Netflix and Chill... Literally Netflix and Chill... (don't think about other thing guys).

So here we are... lets the overview begins.

First of all this movie begins with a conversation between two people in the library. Both of them read the same book. Then, the guy is trying to ask (kind of date??) to the girl. But amazingly, the girl (named Jodi) is so tall for her age. Therefore, the guy is leaving her alone cancelling her out.

Actually, there is her friend that confessed that he likes her. But, unfortunately, Jodi doesn't think that he really means to it and she kind os doesn't like to date someone shorter than her. Because she always thinks that no one who is gonna like her. Everyone in her highschool likes an ordinary girl, not a tall girl.

Soon, after that, there is an exchange student in her school named Stig. As an exchange student, a lot of students want to befriend with him, including Jodi. Stig is such a tall, handsome (not my type, though), and such a popular boy. Even the most popular girl want to be his girlfriend.

As an exchange student, Stig temporary stays at Jodi's friend house (Jack Dunkleman, called Dunkleman, one thing about Dunkleman, that he always carries kind of milk crate for his bag). Actually, Dunkleman doesn't like Stig being at his house, but unfortunately, his mother volunteered to be hosting family. That's the reason why Stig ends up living at the same house with Dunkleman.

All of the girls want to be with Stig, including Jodi. She finds herself jealous whenever she sees Stig with Kimmy (the most popular girl in her school). Therefore, she asks her older sister for advice. Her older sister is an average girl and a winner of a multiple beauty pageant. In order to Stig notice Jodi, her sister asks Jodi to change her appearance to be more girly. Then, they (Jodi, her sister, and her mother) end up do the shopping for Jodi.

Soon, she changed the way she looks. She starts to lose her hair and wear feminine clothes. All she does in order Stig to notice her.

One day, she gets prank by her friends and she ends up meeting Stig in a room. From that moment, they begin close and talk to each other.

---

Do you want to know the rest?
I think it's better for you to watch it yourself. :p

I like the ending when finally, Jodi loves her self for being tall and be with the one who sees her perfectly as she is... (PS: I won't tell you the ending, I think you could guess it by yourself)

Notes:
I'm just too lazy to write the rest... I choose to have a nice conversation with you rather than recall the movie...
