Now, lets begin the spoiler.
Warning!!! It’s spoiler, but if you want to watch without knowing so you could feel as the first time, you’d better not to read this post.
The movie begins with the child named Yuji cooks the meal for him and his father.
The movie is kinda flashback. But, not from Yuji's point of view, but from a diary (later on, could not spoil about diary yet :p).
The flashback begins with burial ceremony in cemetery. The child named Yuji heard that people around them gossiping that the cause of his mother was Yuji. She could not bear the labor and begin sick soon after.
His father named Takumi began to raise Yuji alone. He is quite clumsy but he did the best for Yuji, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and else. Takumi has one drawback, which is he could not bear crowded places. If he goes or stays around crowded place, he would become dizzy and fainted. Fortunately, Yuji was a smart child that he was not a troublesome child. He liked to hang the teru teru bozu upside down. Since he prayed a lot for rainy season comes soon.

Not only Yuki, but his father, Takumi, also prayed for Rainy season. They remembered their mother promise that she would have come back when the Rainy Season came and lived with them during the Rainy Season. They both became happy when they heard the news that the rainy season had come.
When the school was off, they both went around the forest. They remembered at that time they would walk around the forest with their mother. In the forest there was a tunnel and a ruined house. While Yuji was looking for something, Takumi was remembering his wife. How lovely she was.
Suddenly, Yuji saw a woman sitting in front of the door that looked like his mother. He began screaming for his mother. When they approached the woman, it seemed like the woman had lost her memory. They took the woman home and told her that she was his wife and his mother. The mother could not remember anything including her own names and started to live as Mio, his wife and her mother. She looked around the house and found her photo with them and many things.
They began to live as a happy family, while Mio was trying to remember everything. Takumi, as her husband, told her how they had met since Mio asked.
And this is the story how they had met each other and became husband and wife from Takumi’s point of view.
They were classmate in senior high school. They sat next to each other but they did not have conversation until they had graduated. Takumi really liked her. But he was too afraid to have conversation as he look his self low and not in the same level as Mio. Mio was a smart student and study oriented and did not seem to have love interest. Takumi felt that was enough to sit next to her every day at school. At the graduation day, Takumi regretted that he could not speak to Mio.
When Takumi wanted to go home, suddenly Mio stopped him and ask for his signature in her graduation book. After that Mio run away while she was keeping the Takumi's pen in his possession.
Knowing his pen in her possession, Takumi saw a chance to meet Mio for the last time. Then he called Mio to return his pen.
They met once again. But as usual, they could not speak normally to each other. Bravely, Takumi asked Mio for a cup of coffee. Afraid that Mio would leave, Takumi started to talk a lot. He talked about everything and did not give a chance for Mio to talk.
Their love life began to happen when Mio told Takumi that she was cold and Takumi permitted her to put her hand inside his pocket.
Unfortunately, their love life ended at that day. Since Takumi knew that he got a disease because he was trying so hard at athletic club. He could not move so fast until the end of his life. Felt that he would burden Mio, lately Takumi began to move away from Mio's life and hoped that Mio would live happily with other guys.
Knowing the story, Mio wanted to start to fall in love once again with Takumi.
One day...
Yuji asked Mio to accompany him to find what they buried together 1 year ago, time capsule. Inside the time capsule was Mio's belonging including her diary.
As she wants to regain her memory, Mio started to read her own diary and found out she was dead one year ago. Her tears started to falling down when she knew the truth. Considering her family feelings, she didn't want to make the same mistakes again by leaving them without saying goodbye. She began to set up several things such as meeting her husband colleague and asking her to take care of her family (Takumi and Yuji), she started crying as she loves Takumi so much and deep inside her heart that she didn't want Takumi to fall in love with another woman. Later, she visited the bakery and asked the owner to send the birthday cake each year on Yuji's birthday. She wanted Yuji to feel and remembered his own birthday by getting the cake each year until he turned into 18 years old.
At the end of Rainy season, it was the time Mio to disappear. When Takumi and Yuji knew that day was the last day of Rainy Season, they hurried go home to find Mio. Yuji came first and started screaming for his mother. Later, Mio took Takumi on walk to forest to the first time they'd met. That time, Mio asked Yuji to make some promise that he would grow up into fine man and took care Takumi (his father) for her. Fortunately, Takumi came on time before Mio disappear. As Mio was saying that she loved him, she put her hands into his pocket and started disappearing.
It turns out that after all that time, Mio had fallen in love with Takumi since High School!!!!!!!!
The plot comes back into present when Takumi reads Mio's diary and tell the flashback from Mio's point of view.
Mio already fell in love with Takumi since High School. Mio was class representative at that time, she set up that she would always sit next to Takumi for 2 years they were into. Unfortunately, Mio was shy to begin the conversation with Takumi. Until the graduation time, she could only ask Takumi for his sign in her graduation books. When she got the Takumi's sign, she run away as she was shy. She found out that she kept the Takumi's pen. She could give the pen right away but she intended to keep the pen as she wished that was her chance to meet Takumi.
Her wish came true, she met Takumi to return his pen. She regretted that she could not talk much that time, but she was so happily that Takumi asked her to have some coffee with him. She could not talk much and she was so happy that Takumi told everything to her as she wanted to know much about Takumi.
Due to his sickness, Takumi started to move away. But it didn't make Mio moved away. She really fell in love with Takumi. She really wanted to see Takumi a lot, especially when she knew Takumi quit the college. She bravely went to see Takumi, but Takumi was not in good mood because his illness and incidently he hurt Mio with his words. Few month passed, She met Takumi at her university (University of Tokyo). When she tried to chase Takumi she had an car accident. During her comma, she found out that she went time travel into future where she met Takumi and Yuji in the forest.
She had an option whether she could be with Takumi and die several years later or she could live with another man. However, Mio really loved Takumi and she chose to be with him and lived happily with Takumi and Yuji.
That was the reason for Mio to contact Takumi once again and met him. At that time, she said that no matter what happened in the future, whatever would be, she would always be with Takumi. That is the reason they were married and soon later they had Yuji as their son.
Once again, the plot comes back to present where Yuji and Takumi celebrates Yuji's 18th birthday. The baker keeps his promise to send Yuji birthday cake each year even if he has to face bankruptcy.
The movie ends with the scene showing their family picture...

Yepp, that is the movie. The movie ends using Orange Range - Hana song. Click here to listen the song (on Youtube).
The part I really like actually the music. I like the Hana (花) song. I like the music, the lyrics.. It really suits the movie.

I also like the last sentence from Mio to Takumi when they were in Sunflower park. When she said "いま あい に ゆきます"
She knew what would happen in the future, but she still stayed with Takumi no matter what. I knew it kinda cheesy or too much drama, but it is indeed drama, Japanese Drama.. It kinda strange or it is really impossible to happen in real life. But, still it is drama.. So I agree with IMDB rating. It deserve to get 8.0 out of 10. I watch the movie when I was in junior high school, for the first time. Since that I fell in love with the ost - Hana, Orange Range. :D
Whether you think that the movie is good or not, it is up to you. I know that the movie is different with other drama, especially Korean Drama. There is no handsome actor in this movie, but I like the plot how it actually a throwback from Mio's Diary and how we see the same things from two different point of view, Takumi's point of view which he was sad that he only got one-sided love, while the truth is Mio felt the same things as Takumi.
For your information, actually the Korean drama re-make this movie with the same title "Be With You" and of course it seems like the actor and the actress are more handsome than Japanese actor. However, I haven't seen the movie yet. The movie (Korean Drama, Be With You) released on 2018 and the rating is higher than the Japanese (8.8 out of 10).
